Its the Hellraiser series...and they're not nails, their pins - hence the main character - Pinhead. The rest of the cenobites are nice as well.





And the puzzle cube isn't really a game per say, it's the doorway that allows the cenobites into the world once configured correctly.
The only commonly known horror villain I know of ,with ';nails'; on his head, is, as the other posters have said, Pinhead from ';Hellraiser';. Here's a link to the plot on wikipedia.
